As Principal, Joe provides supervision and direction for all technical operations of Walden Associates to ensure that we meet our clients' goals. Under Joe’s leadership, Walden has grown into the successful company it is today. Joe founded Walden in 1995 on the principles of integrity, professionalism, cost effective services, trust, social responsibility, and profitability. He has skillfully used his 30 years' experience in the industry
to continuously fulfill clients' needs by upholding these principles while simultaneously increasing Walden’s revenue year after year. As the leading force behind Walden, Joe continually increased its service offerings to meet the burgeoning needs of our clients. Joe has overseen major projects in numerous market sectors and was directly responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of many. Joe is an expert at managing the environmental compliance needs of municipalities, industrial clients and law firms. He is also a consultant for major construction contractors on health and safety planning and environmental compliance. Joe has designed soil and groundwater remediation systems and water and wastewater treatment systems. He has extensive background in the design of corrective action projects with failed storage tanks—both under and above ground—and has taught seminars on state and federal UST (Underground Storage Tank) regulations. With his experience and vast regulatory knowledge on environmental compliance issues and their affect on business operations, Joe provides Walden’s clients with quick, decisive and tangible recommendations for addressing complex problems. Joe has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
Bob brings his extensive experience in Air Quality and Air Emissions Permitting, Lab Consulting and Solid Waste Permitting to our clients. With over 35 years of experience, Bob has broad, in-depth knowledge of environmental and civil engineering. He is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College and served in the Army Corps of Engineers for 21 years. He served his country
as a Division Engineer Supply Officer in Vietnam and is a professor of Military Science at Hofstra University. His expertise includes system design and compliance for wastewater; hazardous waste; air pollution and solid waste; field Inspection and on-site audits of industrial facilities; laboratory management; field noise measurements and noise mitigation system design; and engineering/technical report preparation. Bob has served on numerous waste and recycling advisory boards and commissions. Bob has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and an M.E. in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College, in addition to being a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College.
Peter incorporates his experience, expertise and versatility in the municipal sector to provide clients with the most innovative and cost-effective strategies for success. With over 10 years' experience, Peter has extensive knowledge of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is an accomplished project manager with wide ranging expertise and responsibilities including the safety, scheduling, and supervision of work completed by his team. Peter's expertise includes the design,
installation and maintenance of underground storage systems, chemical storage systems, soil and groundwater remediation systems, RCRA compliance work, chemical storage compliance, UST spills, environmental assessments, construction documents, bonding requirements and corrective action projects. He routinely works with the necessary regulatory authorities on project details to achieve positive results. Peter has a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from the University of Wollongong, Australia. He is also a certified New York State Asbestos Inspector and is a Professional Engineer licensed in New York State.
Nora combines her knowledge of local, state and federal regulations with her array of engineering expertise to provide outstanding solutions to clients. Nora has 17 years of experience in engineering, including 9 years as a Project Manager at Walden. Nora is an expert in environmental regulatory compliance, environmental audits, SEQRA, remedial alternative development and evaluation, site investigation plans, CERCLA RI/FS projects, RCRA closure plans, risk
management and prevention programs, hazardous waste handling and reporting, best management plans, and permitting. Nora’s groundbreaking work has provided Walden’s clients with solutions to their needs as well as monetary funds from various grant providing organizations. Nora has a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Cornell University, and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College.
P.E., Project Manager and Hudson Valley Office Manager
Lawrence LePere has over 35 years of experience in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with 20 years of design and construction experience in various firms within the Hudson Valley. Mr. LePere also has 15 years of experience in corporate real estate development, as a development manager with a large, national retailer (Lowe's) and global real estate development manager with a large oil services company (Halliburton). Mr.

Kristin draws on her comprehensive understanding and extensive knowledge of environmental regulations to develop the most innovative solutions for solving our clients’ problems. Kristin is an environmental engineer, project manager and head of Walden’s Suffolk County office. She has more than 14 years of experience, including remediation/remedial design, subsurface investigations, environmental site assessments (ESAs), under and aboveground storage tanks, petroleum spills and underground injection control
(UIC) closure assessments. Kristin's additional areas of technical specialties include NY State Superfund, regulatory compliance, petroleum/chemical storage compliance, remedial system construction oversight and preparation of engineering bid documents. Kristin has a Bachelor of Engineering and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Waste Management from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has also earned a Master's of Professional Studies in Waste Management from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Project Manager and Capital District Office Manager
Greta has eleven years of experience in site investigations and remedial activities for government/commercial/industrial/residential sites in NY, NJ, PA, VT and MA impacted with petroleum, PCBs, chlorinated solvents, PFOA/PFAS and other constituents of concern. Greta has experience with both Phase I and Phase II projects and has participated in all phases of project execution from the pursuit phase through project closeout. Greta's field experience runs
the entire gamut of activities from oversight to installation and sampling/monitoring. She has also been responsible for the preparation of work plans, budgeting and the evaluation and reporting of field activities, including spill closure reporting. Greta has a B.S. in Geology from the State University at Albany.
Mike brings his considerable experience as a geologist and environmental expert to every client and project, ensuring success. Mike is a Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) with over 40 years of experience in government, consulting, contracting and education. He is Walden's senior geologist and serves as both doer and mentor to Walden's staff regarding complex hydrogeologic issues. Mike has had a diverse career as a hydrogeologist,
applied geophysicist and environmental expert, serving private, institutional and government clients. He has expanded his professional horizons by continuing education in new field investigative and analytical techniques, including vapor intrusion and groundwater modeling. His projects have taken him throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Canada. A brief cross-section of his project experience includes regional groundwater studies, water supply development and protection, contamination assessments and remediation. He has been an expert witness and provided environmental litigation support. Mike is a past president of the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) Northeast Section, representing geologists in New York, New Jersey and New England. He is currently involved in developing new water intake applications for the power industry to increase energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact using a patented horizontal intake well system.
Kristin brings over 15 years of experience in Business Development, Senior Account Management and Integrated Marketing to Waldens' team of talent. Starting her career in Product Marketing and Development at a major fortune 500 company and large Ad Agency in Boston, she then leveraged that deep experience to join Advertising.com in their start up days prior to acquisition by AOL. She continued on with AOL
for several years and eventually moving on to Sr Account Mgmt at WebMD, based in NYC. Kristin refined her expertise in Business Development and Account Management with these large diverse corporate's prior to joining the Walden Environmental Engineering team. Here she works closely with a tight team of engineers, sales and marketing to deliver a coordinated effort of client-focused success for the company. Kristin graduated with a BS in Communications and minor in Business from the University of Vermont at Castleton.
Audrey is Walden’s Certified Public Accountant and Controller. With over 30 years of accounting experience, Audrey is a key part of the Walden team. While working as a staff accountant for many small and large companies across Long Island, she gained an immense amount of experience involving correspondence with tax authorities, processing payroll, preparing profit and loss statements, and maintaining general ledgers. Audrey joined Walden
as our lead Controller in charge of profit and loss statements, cash management, job costing, monthly financial statements, cash flow, payroll, and many other tasks. Audrey brings with her experience in BillQuick, QuickBooks, Lotus, Excel, Exactax, Prosystems, Clients and Profits, MAS 90, Great Plains, and Peachtree.
