You may be unaware of a current grant opportunity – and we don’t want you to miss out. The New York State Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) is offering municipalities and select not-for-profits 80% reimbursed funding to implement projects such as improving infrastructure to reduce the risk of damage due to flooding (storm hardening), elevating structures/boilers/generators/HVAC systems, implementing permanent back-up power and “hardening” communications systems, etc. This grant allows you to leverage your funds by a factor of 5! The clock is ticking, but luckily the deadline for starting the process has been extended to August 1st. In order to be considered for possible HMGP funding, each proposed mitigation project must be submitted using separate Letters-of-Intent (LOI) on-line filings, all of which are due August 1, 2013!
