Robert A. LoPinto is an accomplished engineer with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and an M.E. in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College. In addition, he is also a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College.
In 1976, LoPinto obtained his New York State Professional Engineer License and joined Shapiro Engineering in 1988. At Shapiro, he was involved in air permitting and air emission control design, waste water discharge permitting and treatment system design, solid waste permitting and facility compliance, hazardous waste operations, and environmental laboratory operations.
Bob has served on numerous waste and recycling advisory boards and was a professor of Military Science at Hofstra University. He also served his country as a Division Engineer Supply Officer in Vietnam.
He purchased Shapiro Engineering in the early 2000s and sold it to Walden Environmental Engineering in December of 2014. Since then, he has been a senior project manager at Walden Environmental Engineering.
At Walden, he has two major responsibilities including acting as project manager for various projects relating specifically to solid waste, waste water control, and air emissions. Another responsibility includes coordinating marketing and proposal preparation for non-government clients.
