For over 20 years, Walden Environmental Engineering PLLC has been serving the community as one of the top professional engineering firms on Long Island, headquartered in Oyster Bay, New York. Walden is seeking to expand our presence in the New York Tri-State area by opening up a series of regional offices throughout New England. We are looking for motivated and experienced (10+ years) entrepreneurial Engineers (professional registered individuals) to act as Project Managers or Office Managers to head up this expansion.
Walden Environmental Engineering consulting sells a series of professional engineering and hydrogeologic consulting services to a combination of municipal, institutional and industrial clients. Our typical clientele includes those with titles such as Environmental Health and Safety manager (EHS), Property manager at a Real Estate Company, Project Superintendent for a Contractor and Commissioner of Department of Public Works (DPW).
The Walden difference is in our people. As a smaller firm, our clients choose to work with Walden due to the responsiveness and professional capabilities of our knowledgeable professional managers and staff. Walden’s principal, Joseph Heaney, has created a working environment that supports an outstanding company culture of continuous learning, community involvement and peer mentoring. He makes a conscious effort to continually give back to staff by reinvesting 20% of the company’s profits back into staff development and training. This is done through the support of professional development through college class reimbursement and bonuses for staff that obtain EIT and PE/CPG registration status. We celebrate personal and firm accomplishments on a regular basis and annually on the company anniversary date we perform a day of community service (paid). Mr. Heaney, as a recent graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at LGA community college, leads by example in this regard. The program sponsored by Babson College and Goldman Sachs, is an executive MBA-like program designed to help small business owners learn the essential skills necessary to grow their businesses by 50% annually. As a result of the program, Mr. Heaney developed a growth strategy to expand Walden’s reach in the Tri-State area.
Often times, working at a larger firm, staff contributions to projects go unnoticed. The greatest benefit of working at Walden is project ownership. At Walden, every staff member has a voice and receives credit for their input. Marketing ideas will not go up the chain of command and end up in the “basket of inactivity”.
Walden is looking for motivated entrepreneurs to work with our experienced staff to help implement Mr. Heaney’s Walden Tri-State area growth plan. Walden has so far expanded opportunities throughout the Hudson Valley, in central Connecticut and across eastern Pennsylvania.
